- Who owns ORBit?
ORBit is a brand name of SyntheSys Software Systems. We are a Whitby based company who focuses on providing cost effective software systems which can benefit a number of different industries.
- How does ORBit work?
ORBit is an exclusive system which provides an easy solution for your Customers to book a stay with you! Its intricate features means your facility can be filled at the click of a button with minimal work on your part. Not only is ORBit the most up to date system you will find, its capabilities will allow you to market your facility whilst taking the hard work out of getting your bookable space filled…FAST!
ORBit’s core principle is that it allows Customers to book your facility via your website. We have developed ORBit with your business in mind and are now proud to offer a powerful system which provides much more than a ‘booking system’ ORBit really is a central reservation system which can cover all your reservation plans and needs from telling you how many people are booked for one particular time, to which areas need cleaning or catering for.
- Is ORBit essential?
Yes, the internet is growing and Customers want a quick and easy way to make bookings. ORBit will ensure that your website is running at its full potential at all times. Your website pages will act as an advertisement, whilst ORBit converts website visitors into Customers.
- What is the difference between ORBit Stay, Dine & Tailor???
The main difference is that each module has been designed with specific areas in mind. After researching each Customer profile, we felt the best way to structure our product was to offer specific modules to specific Cliental but also offer a bespoke service to Customers which are looking to achieve additional bespoke services from us. - Can I use ORBit in conjunction with other systems I may have?
Yes! Both ORBit Stay and Dine will ensure that other online systems you use can easily be consolidated into one overall system. Many of our existing customers have reaped the benefits of being able to work from one set management system and have experienced increased customer satisfaction and efficiency with regard to staffing rotas and stock levels.
- How is this system different to other systems I use such as Guestlink.co.uk or LateRooms.com?
The ORBit system is unique and cannot be compared to other online systems. The ORBit system allows direct bookings on your website with no commission charged. ORBit allows you to manage how your rooms are presented, and encourages your customers to book additional items. ORBit is a comprehensive system which gives you the ability to manage your property in a unique, modern way. The system is currently the most up-to-date system on the market. Not only does it allow you to take FULL control of your bookings, it means that you keep 100% of the booking fee.
ORBit allows you to consolidate other manual and online systems you may have, and allows you to manage and market your business whilst enabling you to assess tangible results. ORBit is a much more powerful system and gives you control of your unit and allows you to retain 100% profit.
About the system:
- Will ORBit change if my website changes?
The format of ORBit is very durable and will fit in with any changes that may be made to your website. If you change the website domain name, your webmaster may need to do a small amount of configuration or simply paste the system into your new site. All will be advised accordingly. Contact us for further information on how we can improve your overall website.
- Will ORBit improve my bookings?
Yes! The time poor society we live in means that people are constantly looking for new ways to book which are fast and convenient. By taking time to improve your website with ORBit and all the tips we have given with regards to Search Engine Optomisation (SEO), you can expect to see improved booking.
- I want to keep my current website, is this OK?
Yes, ORBit fits into your current website flawlessly. You can keep the current branding, although why not contact us about a new, improved website to match your new system?
- Where can I see the product in action?
We have a demo on the website ready for you to click straight on to. If you would like to see a more detailed demo, contact us (leave your details) and we will be happy for a member of our team to contact you and talk you through a demonstration.
Cost and Payment:
- How much will ORBit cost?
We have a price calculator on our website and full details of how we have priced our system. Contact us to discuss Tailor modules.
- Do I need a payment provider?
No, ORBit will work as a back office system, allowing you to manage your services and take bookings over the phone, or by post, and manually process payments.
- Can I take deposits online?
Yes. ORBit can take Deposit & Balance payments
- How do I integrate a payment provider?
PayPal can be integrated using the administration panel, generate your integration code using your PayPal account and paste it into the configurtion page. Other merchant systems can be integrated, contact us for details.
- How do I get a merchant account?
ORBit interfaces with PayPal. ORBit can be configured by us to integrate with any other system for an additional charge. You will need to obtain your own prefered merchant system, this may be online 'PayPal' , 'WorldPay' , or your bank may provide a merchant account.
Functionality
- Can ORBit cause double bookings?
ORBit ensures that any systems which are pending or booked cannot be booked again. (If somebody is in the process of booking online, the system will make this slot unavailable for booking).
- My computer has crashed… Help!!
From time to time, unexpected events can happen with your machine. This is why we recommend you get into good habits and print out arrivals, service lists or day lists on a regular basis. Your system can be accessed at any machine with internet access, meaning any prolonged problems with your PC will not have too much of an effect. In addition, your system is hosted on our server which means we can gain all the relevant information you may need.
- Will my internet be adequate?
The system can be accessed perfectly well using any internet connection. However, to enable you to access the system quickly to deal with telephone and chance bookings, we recommend a broadband connection.
- I don’t have an up to date computer, will ORBit still work?
Yes! All you need is a sufficient internet connection (Explorer 7 or 8, Firefox or Safari). The processing of bookings takes place on our servers which means your PC will be OK.
- Does the system work on a MAC?
Don’t worry, ORBit is compatible with a MAC.
- I have very little computer knowledge. Does this matter?
Not at all, the system caters for all user levels and we offer training and support to all Customers.
- Do I need my own website?
No, ORBit will work as a back office system, allowing you to manage your services and take bookings over the phone, or by post, and manually process payments.
- Does this mean my PC has to be switched on at all times?
The automated approach ORBit has means that you receive automated emails with booking information. You can connect to the system whenever you need to use it. However we would advise regular checks. You will get into good habits with your system and begin to check your emails on a regular basis.
- Is all my data downloadable?
Of course, all of your data is downloadable and can be accessed at any time. We advised that all Customers regularly download this data. We have a training manual which will guide you through this process.
Guarantee & Support
- What support does SyntheSys provide?
We feel that the support we offer to our Customers is the key to maintaining successful relationships with all our Customers. With this, within the set up process we include full product training.
In addition to this, we will offer 3 hours of support per year, free of charge.
- Is there a minimum agreement period?
The minimum agreement required is 12 months.
- Is the system secure?
The security of the Web Booking and Management System is a priority. Measures taken include:
- Our servers are located at a secure location, and are protected by alarm systems which are monitored 24/7
- Our systems are protected by industry standard Firewalls, and Anti-Virus software
- Our Server operation is monitored constantly
- Sensitive data is encrypted before being stored in the database
- Our network is protected by a strict secure password policy
